Which groups do we support?

We support organizations and collectives that have a key role to play in making advancing the rights of women and LBTIQ+ persons, The company's main goal is to develop a new type of business model for the development of the region, which does not have access to the resources of traditional financial backers, through flexible funds that allow them to sustain their work.

What are the requirements?
To be eligible for our funds, these basic criteria must be met:
  • Be an organization, group or network. It is not necessary to have legal status.
  • Have the active participation of at least three people.
  • Be coordinated/led by women or LBTIQ+ persons: most or all of the leadership (assembly, board, directive, working group) must be composed of women.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to women's rights and/or women's, LBTIQ+ and feminist movements.
  • Be linked or network with other women's organizations or groups.
  • Be an organization from Central America (El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua) or Spain and operate in those territories.
  • Not having an annual budget of more than 25,000 euros in the case of Central America or 50,000 euros in the case of Spain.
Which groups do we prioritize?

We prioritize the work of groups formed and led by:

  • Migrant and refugee women and sexual dissidents
  • Indigenous, Afro-descendant and racialized women and sexual dissidence
  • Domestic and care workers
  • Sex workers
  • Diversity and sexual dissidence groups (lesbians, bisexual women, trans and non-binary people)
  • Young women (under 30 years of age)
  • Women and sexual dissidents with functional diversity/ with disabilities
  • Women and rural/peasant women and sexual dissidence
How to apply for support?
Our support is delivered in two ways:

  • By invitationWe directly invite groups to submit a proposal to us, which is evaluated and, if necessary, approved.

  • By call: we make open calls to which groups that meet the specific requirements and priorities can apply.

Since 2009 , In Calala Fondo de Mujeres we have been  committed to supporting women's and/or feminist groups in Spain and Central America.  Our focus is on strengthening women's self-organization to defend their rights, as they are the most effective for achieve real change in their communities because they understand their needs.

We listen and respond to the needs of the groups we support  of the groups we support, that is why we  we provide flexible financial donations and focused on the general maintenance of the organizations or for a specific project.
