At Calala we want to contribute to feminist activism for sure.
OBJECTIVE OF THE CALL
With this call we want to contribute to safe activism by feminist activists and collectives and/or those working for the defence of the rights of women, lesbians and transgender people in Spain.
FOR WHOM IT IS INTENDED
Feminist activists, collectives and organisations that are being subjected to criminalisation, harassment or any form of violence for their feminist activism and/or for their work in defence of the rights of women, lesbians and transgender people in Spain.
Activists may or may not be part of a formal collective.
Organisations can be informal collectives; they do not need to have legal status.
WHAT COSTS WILL BE COVERED?
Legal defence costs before fines for organising and/or participating in mobilisations or other feminist actions, such as poster-posts or street actions.
Legal costs for reporting cases of violence against activists or organisations.
Consultancy costs for the development of security protocols.
Campaigns to collect support/signatures for their cases.
Strategic litigation processes.
Training to learn about the legal consequences of different types of feminist actions.
Fundraising activities to make a resistance box.
Administrative costs (telephone, rent, photocopies, postage, etc.).
The possibility of covering other costs may be considered.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
The minimum amount per proposal is EUR 500 and the maximum is EUR 5,000. Because resources are limited, activists and groups should refrain from requesting the maximum amount if it is not essential for their case, in order to make funds available for new cases that may require support.
A person or group that has received support through this call for proposals may apply for further support provided that it is justified.
“Once the resources for each year have been exhausted, applications will not be accepted until the following year. If the funds for one year are not used up, they will be accumulated for the following year. We recommend writing to activismoseguro@calala.org to confirm the availability of funds before starting the application process”.
DEADLINES AND PROCESSES
- Â Activists or interested groups should fill in the questionnaire which you can apply for through activismoseguro@calala.org, The information provided in the application shall be processed in accordance with the relevant steps to ensure full security of the processing of the information in the application.
- After verifying that the criteria are met, within a maximum of two weeks after receipt of the proposal. an interview will be conducted via telephone or telematic means..
- In the A reply to the application will be given no later than one week after the interview.
- The call will be open on a permanent basis, depending on the availability of funds..
- Individuals or organisations receiving support must complete an evaluation questionnaire and participate in a closing interview. The questionnaire shall give an account of the expenditure incurred, but shall invoices need not be submitted. Justification shall take place when the person or group has made use of the support received and in any case, within the current year of the donation.
