Calala Women's Fund offers up to €100,000 for organisations in Spain working on the social participation of women at risk of exclusion. Applications can be submitted until 17 February 2025. Check the terms and conditions and submit your proposal - drive change!

In this new call “Social participation of women in situation or at risk of social exclusion”.”, we offer up to 100,000 euros to support organisations active in Spain that present proposals focused on the social participation of women in a situation or at risk of social exclusion in any of its dimensions. It is essential that the actions have an intersectional perspective, which allows to dimension the different forms of violence and the diverse circumstances that condition the lives of women and/or sexual and gender dissidents. Applications should be sent to until 17 February 2025.

About the Social Participation Programme for women in situation or at risk of social exclusion

Calala Women's Fund implements the “Programme of specific actions to contribute to the social participation of women in a situation or at risk of social exclusion”.”, funded by the Women's Institute of the Government of Spain. 

Calala strengthens the women's and feminist movement by providing flexible and long-term resources. Calala takes a holistic approach to achieving social and political change by combining financial grantmaking, capacity building and alliance building. Calala raises funds, motivates people to support the feminist and women's movement and contributes to building feminist philanthropy.

Calala has 15 years of experience promoting the rights, participation and strengthening of women's, feminist and sexual dissidence organisations in Central America and Spain. 

Within the framework of the Programme, Calala opens this call for collaboration addressed to organisations active in Spain that present proposals focused on the social participation of women in situation or at risk of social exclusion in any of its dimensions. It is essential that the actions have an intersectional look, which allows to dimension the different forms of violence and the diverse circumstances that condition the lives of women and/or sexual and gender dissidence.

The purpose of this call is to The aim is to contribute significantly to the strengthening of small and medium-sized organisations, through the financing of their performances.

If your organisation meets the following requirements, you will be able to participate in the call:

  • Non-profit organisations with legal personality in the Spanish State, as well as groupings of at least three natural persons which, although they do not have legal personality, can carry out the projects or activities or are in the situation in which the concession is granted.  
  • Commitment to women's rights and/or women's and feminist movements.
  • Organisations made up of and led by women and/or sexual and gender-based dissidents (trans people, non-binary people, and women in all their diversity: lesbian, bisexual, trans and cis women).  

 

What will be funded?

Up to €100,000 will be distributed for projects focused on promoting the social participation of women in situation or at risk of social exclusion and to be implemented within the Spanish State. The total funding awarded will be from 5,000 euros to 10,000 euros, so any amount between these two figures can be requested.

Priority will be given to:

  • Organisations that have no or limited access to public funding.
  • Organisations with small structure and annual budget of less than EUR 50,000.
  • Organisations in the first 5 years of operation.
  • Grassroots organisations carrying out work at the local level.
  • Organisations working in the women's social participation with an intersectional approach which includes other forms of discrimination, such as race/ethnicity, migration status, domestic work, economic insecurity, sexual orientation, gender identity, youth and/or disability, among others. 
  • Organisations women-led and women-integrated rural women, migrant women, domestic and care workers, sexual and gender-based dissidence (lesbian, trans, bisexual, non-binary), young women, racialised women, indigenous women, women of African descent and/or women with disabilities.
  • Organisations working with innovative approaches or emerging issues.

 

Who decides?

The evaluation team will be composed of Calala Women's Fund team members. This team will be able to count on the advice it deems appropriate.

How to submit proposals under this call?

Interested organisations that meet the requirements shall:

  1. Download the proposal form.
  2. Complete the form in English (maximum 10 pages).
  3. Upload the form and supplementary materials at this link naming the name of the implementing organisation.

 

NOTE: Calala Women's Fund may require the applicant organisations to provide any additional documentation and information it deems necessary for the proper evaluation and resolution of the application.
