Care is a necessary service for life, and needs to be sustainable.
The defence of labour rights is a major challenge in a context of globalisation of labour and care chains. The domestic and care workers live in serious situations of violation of their labour and human rights, particularly in domestic work spaces. In the case of women workers migrated, The vulnerability of the majority in this sector is compounded by the vulnerability of their lives to the Aliens Act in force.
Many migrant women are organised for years in peer groups for the defence of their rights, the mutual support and the awareness-raising The public is aware of the responsibility of care and the service provided by this sector.
Thus, they have created flexible and free peer counselling spaces, support groups, resistance boxes, talks and discussions, training workshops in labour and foreigners' rights, public demonstrations and advocacy actions. In turn, the trade unions are also key actors, with a recognised voice and experience in advocacy and defence of labour rights.

- Lyudmila Montoya from Women with a Voice, a group of migrant women that we have been supporting since 2012 in Getxo.

Care is a necessary service for life. Most of the workers who care for children, the elderly and dependants in the domestic sphere have migrated from other countries.
