Central America Programs
Decolonial Narratives

We work to strengthen the capacities of indigenous, peasant, Afro-descendant, feminist and youth collectives in Central America.

Our goal is to promote racial justice and historical reparations through their media, supporting their political, social and racial participation.

The Importance of Community and Feminist Media

In a region where gender inequalities and gender-based violence are very marked, theommunity and feminist media are essential for the empowerment of women and marginalized communities. These media not only inform, but they also educate and mobilize the population on crucial issues such as human rights, gender equality, social justice and democracy.

Community Radio connects rural and urban communities, The program provides vital information and encourages citizen participation.

Feminist Media addresses gender issues from a critical perspective, challenging traditional and patriarchal narratives. These spaces allow women and other excluded groups to narrate their own stories and experiences.

Our commitment

For Calala, supporting these groups and recognizing the diverse voices and knowledge of collectives is fundamental to building more just and equitable societies. By strengthening the creators of decolonial narratives and content, we drive deep and sustainable change and contribute to creating a world where all voices are heard and valued.
