Priority will be given to:

  • They bring plural or non-hegemonic perspectives to the women's and feminist movement.
  • That contribute to countering attacks by fundamentalist anti-rights groups through protection strategies or the construction of new narratives..

Who decide?

It shall be decided by participatory manner by the organisations that submit an application through a vote for the ones they consider to be the highest priority.

This process is a Calala's major political bid to promote greater participation of organisations in decisions about where money for the women's and feminist movement is spent.. We trust the decisions of the organisations we support, and we are committed to a relationship based on political trust and partnership.

Calala Fondo de Mujeres will prepare a summary document of the applications to facilitate the reading and evaluation of the proposals. In this summary document, each proposal will contain information about the applicant group, the actions they hope to implement with the funds and how they contribute to strengthening the women's movement in their territory. The form indicates which information will be shared with the other participating organisations.

Keys to the selection process:

  • Organisations applying to the call may participate in the election. However, will not be able to vote for themselves, but for other proposals that they consider to be key.
  • It will promote the discussion and voting by several members of the group and is not an individual choice.
  • The supported organisations will be granted a period of 19 days to vote.
  • The organisations receiving the highest number of votes will be selected. In the event of a tie, Calala's team will decide to which organisation to award the donation based on the organisation that most closely matches the criteria set out in the rules.
  • The proposals will not be anonymised, so groups will know the names of the organisations they are voting for. No personal data will be shared such as postal addresses, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses.
  • At the end of the process, Calala will send a summary table of the vote count and the names of the selected organisations to all the organisations in the programme. Voting results will be anonymised., The number of votes received by the proposals will be known to all, in order to make the voting transparent, but not from which group each vote came from.
