Some feminisms in Abya Yala and Europe understand the phenomenon of hate speech, which is proliferating in the physical and virtual world, as part of a «global democratic crisis».
On 5 October 2023, in the Sinsorga Kulturgune Feminista of Bilbao, Calala Women’s Fund y Women with a Voice, with the support of eLankidetza - Basque Agency for Development Cooperation, we invite you to address issues that affect all of us in the workshop “Lighting little fires of resistance. Building activism in the face of hate speech”.
More from 50 women various reflections on the rise of the hate speeches and how it affects us as the plural collective that we are: indigenous, mestizo, black, gypsy, clown, feminist, discas, crazy, fat, Muslim, secular, autonomous, believers, undocumented, stateless, bi, bollo, anti-speciesist, diverse categories that converse and weave feminist networks of solidarity and mutual support in the face of hostile contexts. But especially we set out to identify, create and strengthen ways of resisting and continuing to move forward together in the defence of the rights of all.
The debate, moderated by Flora Pozzobon, counted with the contributions of the Warmipura Group colleagues accompanied by Cony Carranza and Celeste Agüero; as well as the opinions and experiences of Magda Piñeyro, Tamara Clavería and Irantzu Varela.
