Training, advocacy and communication actions to help transform unjust power relations.
In a context where hate speech and attacks on feminists, LGTBIQ+ groups, migrants and racialised people are openly promoted, at Calala we believe it is very important for citizens to reflect on human rights and the power relations that determine the world order; and in this dialogue it is essential that the voices of people who live the consequences of an unjust world are present.
Thus, we start with Women with a Voice This project aims to support a group of migrant women in the Basque Country who are committed to these necessary changes. They will define the most important messages and carry out training, advocacy and communication actions to help transform these unjust power relations that affect us as individuals and as a community.

The project, which started in November 2021 with the financial support of Elankidetza - Basque Agency for Development Cooperation, The project, arises from the needs identified by the migrant women themselves, as well as from their commitment to get their messages across to strategic areas in the Basque Country.
Most of us are aware that what happens to us and what we do, individually and collectively, affects other people as well. Being aware of this impact and our place in this web of privilege and oppression enables us to make better decisions.
This is especially important for people and organisations that have the responsibility of deciding and interacting with citizens, such as the immigration areas of city councils or NGOs that support diverse groups, among others.
Migrant women who will invite dialogue and reflection with a feminist and anti-racist perspective.
In order to achieve this transformation, until the end of 2023 we will be collaborating to make the proposals of this group of women accessible to social movements, development cooperation organisations, public institutions and interested Basque citizens. In this process, we also count on the support of Pikara Magazine, The EU is an ally that will enable it to expand its advocacy capacity.
This group of committed migrant women will invite dialogue and reflection with a feminist and anti-racist perspective and will help to make the Basque Country a more habitable space for all people.
