Which groups do we support?

We support organisations and collectives that have a key role to play in making advancing the rights of LBTIQ+ women and LBTIQ+ persons, The European Commission's work in the field of education and training has been carried out in the framework of the European Commission's work in the field of education and training, through flexible funds that enable them to sustain their work.

What are the requirements?
To be eligible for our funds, these basic criteria must be met:
  • Be an organisation, group or network. It is not necessary to have legal status.
  • Active participation of at least three people.
  • Be coordinated/led by women or LBTIQ+ persons: the majority or the entire leadership (assembly, board, board, working group) must be composed of women.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to women's rights and/or the women's, LBTIQ+ and feminist movements.
  • Be linked or network with other women's organisations or groups.
  • Be an organisation from Central America (El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua) or Spain and operate in these territories.
  • Not having an annual budget of more than 25,000 euros in the case of Central America or 50,000 euros in the case of Spain.
Which groups do we prioritise?

We prioritise the work of groups formed and led by:

  • Migrant and refugee women and sexual dissidence
  • Indigenous, Afro-descendant and racialised women and sexual dissidence
  • Domestic and care workers
  • Sex workers
  • Diversity and sexual dissidence collectives (lesbians, bisexual women, trans and non-binary)
  • Young women (under 30)
  • Women and sexual dissidents with functional diversity/disabilities
  • Rural/peasant women and sexual dissidence
How to apply for support?
Our support is delivered through two channels:

  • By invitationWe directly invite groups to submit a proposal to us, which is assessed and, if necessary, approved.

  • By call: we make open calls to which groups that meet the specific requirements and priorities of the call can apply.

How do we support you?

Since 2009 , At Calala Women's Fund, we have been  committed to supporting women's and/or feminist groups in Spain and Central America.  Our approach focuses on strengthening women's self-organisation to defend their rights, as they are the most effective for achieve real change in their communities because they know first-hand their needs.

We listen and respond to needs  of the groups we support, which is why  we provide flexible financial grants and focused on the general maintenance of organisations or for a specific project.
