POWER OF ATTORNEY
In these times of climate emergency and the rise of political parties that support racist and anti-rights proposals, the Huelva Day Labourers in Struggle and Calala Women's Fund invite us to explore those paths that allow us to build a different future from the one that those who exploit, colonise and mistreat us want to lead us to.

Power

We do this with power, The concept is closely linked to Andalusia, a frontier territory, which has a long history of workers' movement and practices of resistance against westernisation, working class dignity and brotherhood.

The Power evokes the way in which folkloric women had to struggle in an industry that was not favourable to them and yet managed to occupy public spaces with a subversive naturalness, opening paths that had not been trodden and defending their voice and their rights with dignity.

Power are the groups of neighbours who meet on chairs al fresco. They share pots and seeds, but also vulnerabilities and fears.

It is that wisdom that is inherited and flows between women.

Power is all that popular knowledge scorned by academia.

With power We occupy public spaces using the same forms and accents that our mothers and grandmothers use to buy bread. The same forms and accents that the media have used to mock or criminalise the working classes in towns and cities, through monolithic stereotypes.

Power is collectivity, it is strength, it is resistance and resilience.

It is to carry your head held high with dignity, even when all the structures conspire to keep you silent.

The power has to do with everyday alliances, with the form of transformation that takes place in the neighbourhoods, the peripheries, in the villages.

It is the struggle of the ILP Regularización YA movement, which has spent months collecting signatures in the streets to have their rights recognised.

They are migrant women day labourers who, despite the economic precariousness and inequalities resulting from a racist and colonial system, have overcome fear and continue to fight for decent working conditions.

We are going through a political juncture in which some sectors want to lead us to a model of society based on old ways of exercising power The world's most powerful and most powerful countries are based on domination, fear, imposition and subjugation of one against the other, through racism, colonialism, patriarchy and a savage extractivism that does not take into account people or the planet.

In this context, we have to be aware that, as Ken Loach explains, the same big corporations that are destroying the planet, are the ones that are cutting wages. They own the media, and they are the ones who say that our main problem is migrants. They serve the same interest, which is to preserve the status quo.

In the face of this, we call on society to unite and defend those ways in which we all win and not just a few. These are the paths of recognition of all people in our diversity, mutual respect, care for our planet and the guarantee of rights that allow us to live in dignity.

Let's do it with joy and subversion. With might.
