Sexual diversity rights for lesbian and transgender women

They are a lesbofeminist collective that works to create positive references for lesbian women in El Salvador and promotes that they live without fear and with freedom. Lesbian women have the right to decide freely about their sexuality and to publicly express their affections without being subjected to discrimination or violence. Through political education, self-care and safe meeting spaces, they help to empower these women so that they can proudly recognise themselves, claim the place they deserve in society, have their voices heard and their rights respected. They have created La Casa de Safo, the first library and artistic and cultural space for lesbian feminist women in El Salvador. There they carry out activities such as talks, film forums, concerts and reading circles, as well as therapy sessions.

Right to a life free from violence

It is an autonomous feminist organisation that has been working since 1992 to strengthen women's autonomy, exercise and enjoyment of rights, citizenship, equality and gender justice. They promote and defend women's right to a life free of violence and their sexual and reproductive rights through training activities for women from local organisations and the environmental movement. They also train municipal, justice and health service personnel and carry out political advocacy actions to advance the guarantee of these rights. In addition, they develop studies and awareness-raising campaigns with public actions such as festivals and the dissemination of graphic and audiovisual material that contribute to the prevention of violence against women.
